If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.
I once read this quote in one of Steve Jobs’ commencement speeches, and somehow, it makes sense for me.
No one wants to die. No one has ever escaped death. When time comes, there’s nothing much we can do to avoid death but face it and accept this hard truth. And that is how it should be. After all, death is a revolution of life. It gives chances for life to grow, for us to evolve, for the new to take over.
You know all these things. We all do. But there’s still something that would hold you back. Something that you don’t want to leave behind. Your family. Your friends. Your job. Everything.
Death is scary. Death means having to give up all the treasurable things around us. Unfortunately, everyone has to go through that stage pretty much sooner or later. Right now, you might be the new. But some days not too long from now, you’ll gradually become the old and get cleared away.
Your time is limited. So live your life to its fullest. Don’t let any minute pass by without a purpose. You’re going to regret it. You really will. So don’t do what people do just because you think they’re cooler than you. Spend time with your family, your friends. Do things that you like. Pursue your own dreams, your own passions.
Life is shorter than you thought it would be. Treasure what you have and stop looking for perfection. It’s right in front of you. You just don’t see it now.
Life has already given you perfection in the first place. Now it’s your turn to hold it before everything is too late.
Stay hungry. Stay foolish
