Have you ever wondered why one person is more creative than the other?
Well, the truth is every one of us is creative in some levels.
The poorest man’s struggling to get by every day. He finds ways to earn money to get himself through the day. The scientist is making spaceships launch into space.
“These are 2 entirely different things!”, you may say.
True! They’re different. But there’s one thing in common, not only between them but among us. We’re all creative in our way.
The thing is how you can boost your creativity to a whole new level. How can you be more creative?
As a writer, I have to create every day. Without creativity, my work would be some long pages of words with no excitement. So, I always have to find ways to keep my mind in a “creative” state.
I’ve tried this way and that way, but somehow, they just didn’t work. Until I ran into these 9 ways to be more creative. My world has completely changed.
Let’s take a look!
1. Think outside the box
Creative people are often considered as ones with new ideas that distinguish them from the rest of the world. And it wouldn’t help if you kept going on the same old roads that everyone’s going.
Think outside of the box. Be brave enough to try something new. Be tough enough to show the world who you truly are. And along the way, you’ll find your creativity.
2. Walk in the rain
It doesn’t seem like it’ll help you to create, right? Odds are you’re wrong. A recent study has shown that a man can be 45% more creative after just 5 minutes walking under the rain.
And I mean here little rain, not a storm or something.
Now you see, rain is not only romantic, but it also helps you create.
3. Write a list
When starting to write a list, people tend to try to write down as many things as possible. That forces the brain to work logically to think of things that haven’t been on the list yet, and as a result, helps you to be more creative in the long run.
Spend about 10 minutes a day crafting a list of anything you wish to. For example, animals. Try to jog down the name of as many living creatures as you can remember.
You’ll see what it does to your brain in less than a month.
4. Stop planning and start doing
Some folks have the tendency of planning everything beforehand. But when it comes to doing, they’re completely speechless.
They may be creative, but the world will never know.
So, stop planning! Get out there and get things done. Some unexpected situations may surprise you.
5. Take more pictures
Have you ever thought about taking more pictures? Well, do it.
The fact is that you have to be creative and think of new ways every time you take a photo. Or else, what you’ve taken will end up looking all the same.
You don’t need a fancy camera to be creative. Just let your mind do its job.
6. Stop trying to achieve perfection
Some people are too afraid of making mistakes. They want things to be right all the time. But if there are no ups and downs in your life, it means you’re dead.
So, stop trying to achieve perfection. No success can be made without failure.
7. Listen to music (and sing even if you suck)
This tip is not directly related to your creativity. But when you sing, your mood is improved. And when you feel happy, you’ll create awesome things that you’ve never even thought of.
Here are some good pieces that you can enjoy!
8. Eat healthy food
Eating healthy food doesn’t necessarily affect your creativity. What it does is provide your body with nutrition and put your mind in mint condition, which’s proven to pump up your creative process.
9. Watch less TV
Watching TV is good. It helps you gain more knowledge, relax and have a good time.
But watching too much TV is a different thing. It kills your precious time.
You can spend that time with your significant other, or pursue the passion that you have long wanted to instead of lying in front of the TV all day.
Wouldn’t it be great?
